Bill Cunningham

Whenever I saw Bill Cunningham in the crowd I knew I was in the right spot. He seemed to have an internal magnet and barometer for celebrities, socialites and the avant garde. I'm going to miss his blue coat, his smile and his great eye for fashion.

Here are some of my shots of Bill before the show started.

Chado Ralph Rucci

Chado Ralph Rucci is my favorite fashion show.
I love the sophistication and perfection!
The clothes are sublime masterpieces-timeless, beautiful and the genius designs
look perfectly comfortable. In the audience were Carmen Dell'Orefice
Andre Leon Talley, Sally Singer, Dr. Valerie Steele, Linda Fargo and Hamish Bowles,
and my favorite fashion editor Glenda Bailey.
It's an incredible honor to sit amongst all these icons.
I was in the back row which worked out well as I was able
to stand up and take pictures.
This was the only show where individual
dresses received applause and awe-inspired sighs.
I would love one day to meet the man behind the scenes in the workroom.

He is such a great inspiration!

Chado ralph rucci

Bill Cunningham, a fashion photographer

The day after the big snow storm, the streets were still slippery
in heels on my way to the Chado ralph rucci show
It took place in his showroom this season and
I sat next to Cheryl Maday and PJ.

The clothes were so gorgeous and innovative-
such impeccable craftsmanship, construction and attention
to detail, the tiniest of hems on chiffon, it was just like
watching a ballet of fashion, where everything seems
fluid and effortless.

I was inspired by all the gorgeous seaming details with jolts
of color woven with sheer layers and textures and loved the
wrapped hands of the models. I was just mesmerized
by the number of dresses Ralph designed-54 incredible pieces!

A masterpiece fashion show!
